For years, women have been dropping subtle, and some not so subtle hints, to their beloved about their favorite diamond shape, engagement ring style, and their ring size. Here are some savvy tips that have been shared with us. At the end of everything I would say, I would not hesitate to mention that my ring size was 7 3/4. We are having pasta tonight, so I need tomatoes, and my ring size is 7 3/4. He took the hint. I wore a ring on every finger except the engagement ring finger for 2 whole weeks before he finally said something. I cut out pictures of rings I liked and pasted them onto green paper and then I pasted rings I didn't like on red paper. Then I left them out for him to find. I spotted my mother in law's ring in old photos from the 40's and "hinted" to my husband to be that his Mom's ring was so vintage that it looked retro. Guess what...I got the original! Cut out a picture of your perfect ring and tape it to the TV remote control. He'll find it. His jeweler took a picture of me wearing the ring, then placed the picture on display along with the ring with a sign that said,"This one is a keeper!" My girlfriend scotch taped a large grey rock on her finger. Her boyfriend asked why, and she told him it was so she could get used to the weight! My friend found a magazine ad picturing a ring she loved and subtly stuck it (with chewing gum) to the bottom of one of her boyfriend's shoes in his closet. My friend began eating a lot of pears and mentioning how great of a shape they had. I took the batteries out of the remote control and replaced them with a picture of my perfect ring in the compartment for my sweetie to discover.
